OBJECTIVES

CIES seeks to strengthen Peru’s academic community in order to produce and disseminate useful knowledge for analysts and decision-makers in government, civil society and academia. Its mission is to contribute to Peru’s development by raising the level of debate on key options for economic and social policy. Its specific objectives are:

  1. Produce new knowledge useful for analysis, design, implementation, and evaluation of public policies and programs.
  2. Improve the quality and relevance of applied research.
  3. Strengthen and decentralize national capacity on research and teaching of economic and social issues.
  4. Foster debate and interaction among academia, government and civil society.
  5. Promote recognition of and support to socio-economic research in Peru.
  6. Obtain funds for economic and social research to allocate them competitively among its associates.
